About Me

About me
I have worked in HR for nearly 2 decades, with over a decade of that in senior leadership roles. It's been in a range of different industries, but typically I have been supporting leaders in fast paced, growing businesses that are transforming from scrappy start ups, to more mature businesses. These environments were often chaotic, political and largely male-dominated, so through these experiences, working with people through change has become part of my DNA.
Over the last 10 years the world and businesses have become more complex and so has my life! I got married, had 2 children and moved the family from London to my hometown in Suffolk. My ways of working and coping were not working quite so well after having children and I was experiencing cycles of complete burnout. After taking redundancy in 2024, I set up my own HR consultancy so I could continue providing my expertise but in a way that suited me. I named it Progressive Scaling to reflect the type of journey that my target audience would be on.
However, my personal and professional life came together very clearly when I was diagnosed with ASD and ADHD in my late 30's after I started researching it for my young daughter. I started to piece together so many things throughout my life and it has been truly life changing to discover how my brain works and why I have struggled in so many different areas of my life. However, it also highlighted why I thrive in certain situations too! AuDHD can make you highly attuned to people's feelings and emotions, things unsaid, the shifts in the atmosphere, seeing the big picture and all the detail underneath and staying calm in a crisis.
I decided that I wanted to make a difference to those people who had experienced similar challenges to me; in particular women who have worked really hard to navigate their home and work environments, but still feel deeply misunderstood. Whether this is because they are neurodivergent (diagnosed or not), they have tried to keep up with the expectations that society puts on them, or if they just are a bit lost...
I now run Progressive Coaching and am soon to be qualified with a Professional Diploma in Coaching (ICF, EMCC and AC accredited) to complement my degree in HR & Psychology, Masters in HR, Chartered Fellowship with the CIPD and HR experience. I have a certificate in Neurodiversity Coaching, a further 60+ hours of CPD completed in Neurodiversity related topics and continuously learning more about Neurodiversity and the impact it has on our lives.
